The Allotment Shop
One of the benefits of paying an annual membership fee of £5 to the GCAA is the service provided by the "shop". It stocks manure, compost, various soil fertilisers and conditioners, organic slug & snail pellets, seeds, and many other gardening essentials at excellent prices.

It is open on Saturdays and Sundays between 11 am and 1 pm between March and the last Sunday of October, whatever the weather might be doing.

During the winter months (a good time to clear your plot, apply lots of manure, and even rake in some lime if your soil would benefit) the shop opens between 11 am and 1 pm on Café Sundays as well.

In the New Year you will be invited to come in and place an order for seed potatoes and we will do our very best to obtain the ones you would like - again, at a discount - but like everyone else, our suppliers are at the mercy of the weather, plague, pestilence, and so on. You will be offered a very nice substitution if necessary.

During shop hours you can also pay your subs, hand in (or ask about) lost property, and read the minutes of the current year's Committee meetings (thrilling stuff indeed).
There is now also a notice board outside which does its best to keep plot holders up-to-date with Site activities, Committee doings, and Haringey Council's Allotment policies, as well as who to contact in the event of a problem on site.

Items such as fleece, bird netting and ground sheet cover are kept in the Container opposite the Shop. Decide how much you want, then pay for it and it will be cut for you as soon as possible - but not during shop opening hours. You will need to return and collect your purchase when the shop is next open.

Payment can be made by cash, or credit/debit card.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR CREDIT - the shop is a small, volunteer-run service funded by the G.C.A.A. Thank you!
